Don Cooper’s most recent body of work, “E-8?” takes his ritualistic and meditative paintings of time and space to a larger scale and introduces new surfaces and media. The watercolors are on 37″ x 54″ hand made Indian paper painted with pigment made from stones such as jade, turquoise and lapis lazuli. The paintings reflect concepts such as “the theory of everything” and visually bare a resemblance to the recent mathematical structure E8.
